  4. The fact you have to talk about technique so much just goes to show how floored the SVJ is as a test of explosive lower body power. The CMJ is a far better test because you can't game the test with technique. I also see no practical reason to do nordic curls in training for jumping. It's a great exercise for building hamstring strength and reducing hamstring injuries, but to say hamstrings are a big factor in vertical jumps is just plain wrong, it is a quad and glute dominated movements and the flexion at the hips and knees means that the hamstrings experience little to no tensions throughout the entire movement.

  22. The bands are also good for permanent bar acceleration. In a regular squat the last part of the lift is usually decceleration.
